Affiliate Disclosure
Last updated: May 2026
Boreholeflow is an independent website owned and operated by Ateya. The site publishes reviews, buying guides, and troubleshooting articles about well water pumps, pressure tanks, water treatment systems, and related equipment.
This page explains how the site earns money, the programs it participates in, and how that does (and does not) affect the recommendations you read here.
Amazon Associates disclosure
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
Boreholeflow is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. When you click an Amazon link on this site and complete a purchase, I receive a small commission. The price you pay is identical to what you would pay buying directly from Amazon.
This disclosure is required by the Amazon Associates Operating Agreement and by United States Federal Trade Commission guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255).
Other affiliate programs
In addition to Amazon Associates, Boreholeflow may from time to time participate in other affiliate or referral programs related to well water equipment and services. Any link that earns me a commission falls under the same disclosure: I receive compensation if you purchase, you pay no more than you would buying directly, and the commission does not influence which products I recommend.
How affiliate links work
An affiliate link is a normal web link with a tracking code attached. When you click one of these links and complete a purchase, the retailer pays Boreholeflow a small percentage of the sale. The commission comes out of the retailer’s margin, not your walletou pay the same price either way.
Not every link on this site is an affiliate link. Links to manufacturer websites, scientific resources, regulatory agencies, and other reference sources are typically not monetized.
How this affects my reviews
I write product recommendations based on engineering specifications, field experience with comparable equipment, manufacturer track records, and verified buyer feedback. The size of the affiliate commission a product offers is not a factor I weigh.
Practically, this means:
- Products with higher commissions do not get higher ratings
- Products from brands I have direct field experience with are not given preference unless that experience genuinely informs the recommendation
- When I recommend against a product or describe its weaknesses, I do so even when an affiliate commission was available on it
- When a recommended product is not available on Amazon, I will say so and link to where it can be purchased, even if no commission is involved
This is not because I’m uniquely virtuous. It’s because the long-term value of being trusted is greater than any short-term commission earned by recommending the wrong product. If you bought a bad pump on my recommendation and your well stopped working in two years, you would never click another link on this site, and you would tell other people not to either. The math doesn’t work.
Sponsored content
Boreholeflow does not currently publish sponsored content, paid product placements, or paid reviews. If that policy ever changes, sponsored content will be clearly labeled as such at the top of the article.
Free product samples
Manufacturers occasionally offer free product samples to review sites. As of this writing, Boreholeflow has not accepted any. If that changes, any review based on a free sample will state so clearly within the article itself.
My professional affiliation
I am the Project Manager at Bonvic Drilling Co. Ltd, a borehole drilling and water infrastructure company based in Kenya. Bonvic Drilling is not affiliated with Boreholeflow, and Boreholeflow does not promote or sell Bonvic Drilling’s services to readers. The connection is disclosed because my field experience at Bonvic is the basis for the expertise behind this site’s content.
